Two women get ten years imprisonment for charas smuggling

A local court today awarded ten years of rigorous imprisonment each to two women and also slapped fine of Rs three lakhs each on them in connection with a case of charas smuggling. Additional District and Session Judge Rajkumar sentenced both the women to ten years of rigorous imprisonment after they were found guilty in the case. The court also slapped fine of Rs three lakhs each on them failing which they would have to undergo additional six months of imprisonment. According to the prosecution, 13 kg of charas was recovered from possession of Meena while six kg of charas was recovered from Pramila under Gopalpur police station area in West Champaran district on January 28, 2014. A case in this connection was registered against them at Gopalpur police station. UNI XC-KKS AKM
