Relatives turn violent after patient death in SKMCH, set ablaze four ambulances

Agitated over the death of a patient in Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMH), relatives and locals went berserk and set ablaze four ambulances under Ahiapur police station area in the district today.

Police said here relatives turned violent after the death of a patient in SKMCH and set ablaze four ambulances in Hospital premise.

They also misbehaved with doctors and staff of the hospital alleging negligence in treatment.

"The violent mob of locals and relatives also blocked NH-77 to protest the death of patient due to alleged negligence in treatment," police said, adding that mild force was used to disperse the unruly mob.

After intervention of police officials and district administration authorities, the blockade was lifted and traffic flow was restored.
